Misha, an old friend of Tammo's has recorded this beautiful russian ballad
by Alexandr Bashlachiov for him.

Listen here: Blast Away moving stuff.

Here is a rough translation of the text:

Blast Away

Hand on a shoulder,
Stamp on wing,
It's a sauna day in a barrack of problems,
Writing book is soaked to the skin.

I know why
I'm keeping my way
I will be easy for me
To fly away.

Three minutes to the ball of waxworks,
Quarter to death,
Even seven flayed skins
Give a bit of wool,

But how I wish to live,
No less than to sing,
Tie my thread
In a knot.

***

Cold April,
Hot dreams,
And viruses of new notes
In the blood,

And every target
Of nearest war
Is laughing and waiting
For love.

Our doctor in charge
Will warm up his sun syringe
And sparkles of beams
Will penetrate our blood.

No, do not cry,
Sit down and watch
How Love is running
In throat.

Catch Her with mouth:
Glasses are too small,
Torpedo's chord -
To the lees.

Ad poster
Of the final spring
Is swinging the square
Of the window.

***

Perforated temple,
Blinded horde.
You see, it's never too late
To skin off the armor.

While kissing a piece
Of salvaged ice
I quietly came
To the fire.

And we are the black sheep of a family of rats,
We are stepsons of birds,
And everyone is one-third
A ball round.

Lay down and watch
How nuclear prince *)
Is carrying his whip
To the throne.

***

Don't cry, do not pity,
Whom should we pity?
Cause you, like me,
Is an orphan.

What's up with you? Be brave!
We need to fly away,
Now then, blast away!
Everyone, blast away!

What's up with you? Be brave!
We have to fly away.
Yo, blast away,
Everyone, everyone,
Everyone blast away!

© Alexandr Bashlachiov, 1986

*) The song was written shortly after the Chernobyl disaster.

Thanks to all of you again for making Tammo's last weeks that much better.

Joern Windler, an old school friend of Tammo's, just told me his old school mates have
collected and are sending flowers to the funeral for Tammo. The rest of the collection is
being donated to aid German Cancer Reseach.

Thanks fot that Joern, really nice gesture.

This is amazing; so much help from around the world.

Thank you, really.

I am bit scared of listing specific people because I certainly will forget someone...

Sorry, but I am getting soooo many responses! But just a few:

Henning, Meike, Gerda, Anja, Annemarie, Rebecca, Misha, Scherz, Volker,
and of course all the others at cubase.net & the guitar diner.
Special thanks to Kevin Brady at bugroom for providing this domain and webspace
free of charge, looking after the donations, getting the pressing done and donating $500!
Kevin is also a musician and also offers hosting for music websites.

Another song written by Kevin Price from the guitar diner, dedicated to Tammo: Trooper

Sherz/Pearldivers/Wolf/Zapaxe from the cubase forums have performed and recorded a song for Tammo:

Man of Music  (Listen here)
© 2006 Ian Rushton / Rongo Maihi

Man of music
Play me a song
That comes from the soul of you
You pick the rhyme
And the tune
For we will like what you choose
What you choose….

Fill the world with that certain beat
One that stands out strong
Take us on a magic carpet ride
Where we close our eyes and sing along
So play a song Mr Music man
Turn the volume up loud
You know that you share you talent with us
Be strong my friend, be proud!

For music is a peacemaker
A language all of it’s own
It has no barriers or prejudice
Just a melody, beat and tone

Fill the world with that certain beat
One that stands out strong
Take us on a magic carpet ride
Where we close our eyes and sing along
So play a song Mr Music man
Turn the volume up loud
You know that you share you talent with us
Be strong my friend, be proud!

 thanks guys!

Bruce Garnitz has dedicated a song to Tammo: Don't Let It Go Unnoticed

Don’t Let It Go Unnoticed Words and Music by Bruce Garnitz

This is a golden time for you
What’s happening right now
Won’t be the same again for you
Don’t let it go…Don’t let it go unnoticed

You may not have a home right now
You may hate where you are
You may not see a way out now
Look to your heart… Don’t let it go unnoticed

What you feel you need
Seems so far out of reach
What you need to feel inside
Could be closer than you think

All the battles you have fought
Have brought you here today
Those scars you’ve earned from battles lost
Prove you’ll fight another day

This moment shines
This moment’s golden
Though it may be hard to breathe
Take notice of the lives you’ve touched…it may give you the breath you need

Instrumental

This moment shines
This moment’s golden
It’ll only last so long
Grab every strand of hope you can… Intertwined they’ll make you strong

This is a golden time for you
Yes, I’ve been at that door
You still can dream your dreams if you
Don’t let them go…Don’t let them go unnoticed
Make sure they’re noticed now

You still can dream your dreams
This moment shines…
This moment’s golden…
Don’t let go…
